Position:

Design Associate (Traverse Architects LLC; Cambridge, Massachusetts): Assist in project management through all phases of work—analysis of the project site and existing building, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration. During these phases of work, duties will include the following: develop architectural designs and graphics using AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite; field measure and document existing conditions; draft existing conditions drawings; develop schematic design strategies; draft and 3D model schematic floor plans and exterior elevations; research and select Products & Materials; design Development drawings including building sections and interior elevations; prepare Construction Documents drawings including technical details, reflected ceiling plans (RCPs) with electrical and lighting layouts; assist in specifications and schedules; develop elaborate 3D models and renderings; furniture research and selection; attend project meetings and maintain good communication; compose presentations; maintain product resources library; and assist in business development and marketing materials.

Minimum requirements: Master's degree in Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field.

Must have: Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp-Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office; proven ability to develop architectural designs and graphics using AutoCAD, SketchUp-Pro, and Adobe Creative Suite; proven ability to perform field measurements and document existing conditions using laser devices, measuring tapes, plumb lines, and levels; proven ability to technically draft existing conditions using AutoCAD and SketchUp-Pro software; proven ability to develop schematic design strategies using freehand sketching, and technically draft site plans, floor plans, elevations, and sections using AutoCAD and SketchUp-Pro software; proven ability to research and select appropriate architectural Products and Materials, and tabulate selections into AutoCAD and MS Excel software; proven ability to develop technical construction documents including building sections, interior elevations, and reflected ceiling plans (RCPs) with electrical and lighting layouts, using AutoCAD and SketchUp-Pro software; and proven ability to compose professional presentations and develop elaborate 3D models and renderings/visualizations of architectural materials, massing and space using SketchUp-Pro and Adobe Creative Suite.
